{Intro} Wonder v1.0

"I am a kid a heart. Are yoiu a kid a heart? I remember what it was like to be a kid. I remember that we could be completely care free. So care free that it seemed like we could just wonder away in a world of boundryless possibilities. It was a world full of potential and possibility, limitless by every stretch of the imagination. It was a world where as long as we could wonder it, we could get lost in it. We could go anywhere, we could be anything, we could do anything...

Wonderland SP

When I was a kid, I could conquer the world. I really could, because I could do anything! Absolutely anything! Well... ....at least I thought, I believed that I really could do anything! I believed it with all my heart and soul. In fact, now that I think about it...  I may have believed in myself more as a kid, than I do as an adult. Those were the days." The secret is that "There is still a 6 yr old inside of all of us, still undaunted, and just dying to come out and play" - Granville Toogood

Wonder {Workshop}

Because wonder opens the mind to a boundryless world of possibility. It stretches the imagination and encourages the discovery and evolution of everything... from any vision to the purpose and the passion that makes it come alive. Because it is in our ability to wonder of the things that don’t yet exist that they can come to be; from the tangible things that make up the material world around us like plastic, penicillin and luxury brands, to the intangible things that make up the boundryless world within us like passion, potential (worth) and imagination. Wonder encourages the evolution of any artists' folio through discovery. "What is now proved was once only imagined"  - William Blake

What Happened

{?} What Happened {?}

What happened to those days? Why did we as adults stop believing in the things we believed in when we were kids? Answer: we live in a society that is structured to de-evolve wonder, thus shrinking the imagination back to its original size.

   "sit up straight..."     "stop being silly... you need to act like an adult" - Mother
   "single file...  stay in line...   follow the rules... answer the questions" - Teacher
   "you kidding me? you don't want to do that. nobody does that. we'd get in trouble" - Friend
   "you can't make any money in that profession. this job is a just a means to an end" - Everyone
   "that's wrong. do it the way I showed you" - Boss

stop being silly + stick w the status quo + find the right answers + always have a serious plan + be logical + think rationally + teach and repeat = lose your wonder

{Wonderless} Workshop

When we lose our ability to wonder, we lose the abililty to truly believe that anything is possible. We can no longer go anywhere...  nor can we be anything... nor can we do anything.... We've lost the ability to conquer the world. When we lose the ability to truly believe that anything is possible, we lose the ability to believe that we can do anything. De-evolving wonder shrinks the imagination and limits our dreams. "Whether you believe you can or whether you believe you can not, you're absolutely right." - Henery Ford

{Newsflash} Linear Thinking

Is the shortest distance between two points really a straight line? When was the last time you checked? When was the last time you asked, "I don't know?" Why is it so difficult for adults to say "I don't know" like when we did when we were kids. Because when we don't know, we discover new questions... new insights to see things differently. "Without the ability to temporarily forget the things we know, our minds remain cluttered with ready-made answers, and we never have an opportunity to ask the questions that lead off the beaten path in directions." - Roger Von Oech. What are some of the barriars to seeing things differently?

   there should be a right answer
   it should be logical
   follow the rules
   don't be foolish
   be practical

}Wonder Opens The Mind{

Wonder opens the mind to a boundryless world of possibility. It stretches the imagination and encourages the discovery and evolution of everything...  From any vision to the purpose and the passion that makes it come alive. Because it is in our ability to wonder of the things that don’t yet exist that they can come to be. From the tangible things that make up the material world around us like plastic, penicillin and luxury brands, to the intangible things that make up the boundryless world within us like passion, potential (worth) and imagination.

Because wonder encourages the evolution of any artists' folio through discovery. From the discovery of things like questions and failures which brings about insight and innovation to the discovery and rediscovery of purpose and new paradigms which brings about truth and wisdom. "A moments insight is sometimes worth a life's experience." - Oliver Wendell Holmes.

Newsflash: White Paper is in edit mode as is 50% of this site.

{White Paper}

work = play and play = work

Moreover, if it's in our ability to wonder of the things that don't yet exist, that they can come to be, then it is the force of wonder at work that stretches the imagination (see white paper on wonder.doc). It is this very force, the one at the very begining that makes a synergy playground possible for adults. As a referecne point outlined in great detail in the SP white paper on wonder,

"The world we have made as a result of the level of thinking we have done thus far creates problems we cannot solve at the same level of thinking at which we created them." - Einstein

As such, the key to over coming this problem is not simply making every attempt to wonder. It is however, simpler: to cultivate the power of child-like wonder, and de-evolve the boundries that de-evolved imagination. Child-like wonder stretches the imagination so that we can discover the same level of thinking at which we the problem was created so the problem can be solved. .

childlike wonder + discovery = play

A Synergy Playground culture that makes little distinction between work and play cultivates productive play so that the same character attributes and skill set developed on the playground may be developed in our people, brands and organisations: resourcefulness, planning, strategy, design, decision making, creativity, risk taking, fulfillment, passion, purpose, vision and radical innovation.

play + imagination = vision

vision + mission = radical innovation

radical innovation + purpose + passion = the dream

Mark Twain suggested that work and play are words used for the same thing under different conditions. Play is serious business. It is amongst the most powerful forces in human development. It pulls ideas out of thin air, sees opportunities behind closed doors, and creates solutions to your biggest challenges. Play puts the power of discovery, imagination, creativity, vision and radical innovation in your hands. People, brands, organisations: the ball's in your court. {click here to read more about the 21st century business environment: "ingenuity is at a premium"}
