When I was a kid, I could conquer the world. I really could, because I could do anything! Absolutely anything! Well... ....at least I thought, I believed that I really could do anything! I believed it with all my heart and soul. In fact, now that I think about it...  I may have believed in myself more as a kid, than I do as an adult. Those were the days." Wonder {Workshop}

Because wonder opens the mind to a boundryless world of possibility. It stretches the imagination and encourages the discovery and evolution of everything... from any vision to the purpose and the passion that makes it come alive. Because it is in our ability to wonder of the things that don’t yet exist that they can come to be; from the tangible things that make up the material world around us like plastic, penicillin and luxury brands, to the intangible things that make up the boundryless world within us like passion, potential (worth) and imagination. Wonder encourages the evolution of any artists' folio through discovery. What happened to those days? Why did we as adults stop believing in the things we believed in when we were kids? Answer: we live in a society that is structured to de-evolve wonder, thus shrinking the imagination back to its original size.

{Wonderless} Workshop

When we lose our ability to wonder, we lose the abililty to truly believe that anything is possible. We can no longer go anywhere...  nor can we be anything... nor can we do anything.... We've lost the ability to conquer the world. When we lose the ability to truly believe that anything is possible, we lose the ability to believe that we can do anything. De-evolving wonder shrinks the imagination and limits our dreams. {Newsflash} Linear Thinking

Is the shortest distance between two points really a straight line? When was the last time you checked? When was the last time you asked, "I don't know?" Why is it so difficult for adults to say "I don't know" like when we did when we were kids. Because when we don't know, we discover new questions... new insights to see things differently. "Without the ability to temporarily forget the things we know, our minds remain cluttered with ready-made answers, and we never have an opportunity to ask the questions that lead off the beaten path in directions." - Roger Von Oech. From the discovery of things like questions and failures which brings about insight and innovation to the discovery and rediscovery of purpose and new paradigms which brings about truth and wisdom. Moreover, if it's in our ability to wonder of the things that don't yet exist, that they can come to be, then it is the force of wonder at work that stretches the imagination (see white paper on wonder.doc). It is this very force, the one at the very begining that makes a synergy playground possible for adults. As a referecne point outlined in great detail in the SP white paper on wonder,

As such, the key to over coming this problem is not simply making every attempt to wonder. It is however, simpler: to cultivate the power of child-like wonder, and de-evolve the boundries that de-evolved imagination. Child-like wonder stretches the imagination so that we can discover the same level of thinking at which we the problem was created so the problem can be solved. .
